8/18 Announcement

Yesterday, we were blessed to hear Msn. Esteban Cho's mission report from Bolivia. Through his sharing, we were reminded again of the truth that when a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it produces many seeds. We also watched a video about the Belize short-term mission and heard what the mission trip team members learned. We are deeply thankful for the great grace that God has given them.

As we reflected on yesterday's Sunday message, we are encouraged to trust in God, who works all things together for good and faithfully carries out His mission despite our sins and weaknesses. Let's continue to pray that we may participate actively in God's mission, fully trusting and obeying Him. May we also feel God's heart and have the broken shepherd's heart for souls perishing without the gospel, so that we may boldly share the good news.

This coming Friday, August 23, from 8:00 to 9:30 pm, we are pleased to host a special missiology lecture by Dr. Jae Suk Lee. Dr. Lee is a missionary sent by GMS (Global Mission Society) who served gospel work in the Philippines from January 2005 to May 2014. He later earned a Ph.D. in Missiology from Fuller Theological Seminary and is currently serving as the Director of the East-West Center for Mission Research and Development in North America. Dr. Lee is visiting New York to help his son move in, as his son was accepted to Columbia University. His lecture is titled "A Missional Reading of the Epistle to the Galatians." It will be a very timely lecture that we need as we study the Book of Acts. I encourage our members to attend and have a great time together.

Please continue to pray for those who need Jesus' healing grace. M. Becky Song Lee has completed her first round of chemotherapy. She will need to undergo six sessions once every three weeks. Please pray for her strength during this treatment.
