Our Story

NY UBF began in 1971 as a small campus Bible study and has grown into a fellowship of students, families and lay missionaries who share one prayer: that God may raise lifelong disciples of Jesus on the campuses of New York and send them to the ends of the earth.

TIMELINE

Five Decades of Campus Mission

NY UBF members through the years

1971-1973

Ground breaking period

UBF’s campus ministry took its first steps in New York as the first missionaries and students began studying the Bible together and praying for the campuses of the city.

1974-1984

Foundation laying period

One-to-one Bible study, Sunday worship and disciple training became the rhythm of the ministry, and the first generation of leaders was raised.

1985-1994

Time of struggle

Through hardship and growing pains the fellowship learned to hold on to God’s word and to keep serving students by faith.

1995-2005

Time of transition

A new generation of leaders stepped forward as the ministry re-established itself for the changing campuses of New York.

2005-today

Continuing the mission

Today NY UBF continues to reach college students across New York with the gospel, raising lifelong disciples of Jesus who serve the next generation.
